sock puppets

i had the day off on president's day. henry and i had the apartment to ourselves for the afternoon after nana and gunka had to head home after a fun-filled weekend with the fam (of course i have photos and a post coming shortly about all that)  as i was going through the laundry i became aware that we all have several pairs of socks with holes in them.  but sometimes, only one of the pair was bad....so what to do with the single, lonesome, leftover sock?

PUPPETS
:)
i also had a bunch of other leftover craft supplies which the entire living room floor was shortly covered in during the makings of said socks.  we had a lot of fun making some new little friends and henry wore his almost the rest of the day (i made him take it off his sweaty little hand a few times to eat and such). i also made one, and daddy even joined in the fun when he got home from work, so we had an entire sock puppet family :)
see, his new little sock buddy never left his side.
making our puppets say hi hi hi hi hi
our very own puppet show featuring daddy sock and baby sock
hehe :)

*PS*
soooo, a little update on the whole big boy bed situation.  austin and i were just marveling on how we were so lucky that henry doesn't get out of his be at night....as if he didn't realize he could just climb out whenever he wanted unlike when he was in his crib.
well, he figured it out.
we suddenly heard his door open and he came stumbling into the living room all bleary-eyed....two hours past his bed time (hadn't fallen asleep yet)  so we put him back to bed.  he gets back up.  we put him back to bed. he gets back up.  you can see where this is going.  he is so tired that we have reached that amazing point where we are far beyond being simply irrational.  austin thought that if maybe we got into bed and pretended to be asleep he wouldn't want to get up anymore....i was like, yeah right, but sure i'll try whatever.  so we were laying quietly in the dark and we heard his door open, then we heard his feet shuffle across the carpet.  he grunt/climbed his way up into bed right between us, snuggled in under the covers and said: okay, hi.
fail.
he finally negotiated his father into cuddling with him in his own bed.
it's going to be a long week.
:)

  1. Sock puppets are awesome!! Now get a little knitted glove and do five finger puppets on one hand. You can do the whole family and probably a dog on one hand!!
