i've seen several projects involving creating silhouettes of your little ones, and have wanted to do it myself for awhile. i finally landed on this one in which the silhouette is actually the negative space, or in this case, the natural wood grain/color with the outside painted.
i eventually want to cover a wall in henry's room with frames/prints/art/crafty items :) and this will just be one little piece of it. i decided to go with a small piece of wood instead of a larger one, like i was originally thinking, because it seemed to make the the entire piece more precious :)
i picked up this square wood tile at hobby lobby for fifty cents.
then, i went through all of my images of henry (which are quite a few-ha) and found a good profile of him. i sized it to fit the wood piece, printed it off, and traced it.
it looks kinda weird here--haha
then i painted it, with super fun blue craft paint
tada! the paint wasn't quite yet dry when i took this photo, but i couldn't wait :) i love how it turned out--my sweet little boy's sweet little silhouette
bt-dub....super easy and only cost $1.50 to make.... ;)
